How to fool your taste buds into think you just ate at a five star sushi restaurant!

Inarizushi – there is a great blog called “just hungry” that explains it well. “Basically, inarizushi is a fried tofu skin (aburaage) that’s been cooked in a sweet-soy sauce based sauce, drained then stuffed with sushi rice.” Very easy if you have an Asian market in town as you can buy the bean curd skins already marinated and in a can – just stuff with sushi rice!

California-Stuffed Avocado – for those that fear rolling sushi!

  • 3 hass avocados
  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice
  • 1 tsp sushi vinigar
  • 1/3 to 1/2 peeled cucumber – chopped
  • half a package of imitation crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons mayo
  • 1 – 2 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • seasame seeds to garnish (optional)

Slice avocados in half, remove pit, widen the holes just a bit.

Mix all other ingredients (except seeds).

Spoon into the holes in the avocado, garnish with seeds.

The filling is so good! I can’t wait to eat more of it tomorrow!
