My fave smoothie right now is:
3-4 cubes ice, crushed
1 handful cashews, crushed
1 handful flaxseeds
3 large handfuls of spinach
1 banana
1/2 orange, peeled and sectioned
a big squirt of real lemon juice
1/4 c. diet 7-up
(makes 2 smoothies)
It's really sweet and yummy. You need not add the 7-up if you replace it with juice or water, but it makes the smoothie a little bit effervescent, which is nice.

This smoothie is amazing, my boyfriend even liked it and I have to buy him caramel dip to get him to eat apples! I tried it with raspberries and banana too and it worked out great, better served chilled!

avocado and strawberry smoothies are great also.

your smoothie is even richer and a tad more caloric (and colon friendlier too (get those bowels moving or the colon rollin') if you add soymilk.

i'm going to try and get me a juicer again and make carrot juice and see if i can't somehow make a carrot smoothie.

Tom - thanks for commenting! If you read carefully you'll see the use of the strainer is only a tip for serving the smoothie to a toddler in a sippy cup - it will not be able to go through the sippy cup top until you strain it and chunks are not good for small children - the strainer is not meant for adults of course or for older children who can drink from a cup.

Strainer? I'd think you'd want to be eating everything, otherwise you're not really eating "whole foods" anymore, its more processed and potentially leaving out something good...
